Drawing and Painting the Eyes!
In this tutorial, I will give you tips and shorthand techniques I’ve picked up over the years to paint and draw convincing eyes! You will learn the needed anatomy to understand the planes, and underlying bone structure to draw and paint them with mastery and finally get both eyes together to look good:D
First, we will go over the basic structure of the underlying skull, focusing on the eye sockets to successfully understand how the eyes are framed. Then we will go over a series of exercises, and methods for breaking down the basic lighting, and planes of the eyes and eye lids through studying sculptures of the old masters. I will then show you my approach to successfully setting up your gesture and lay in drawing of the eyes to set you up for a successful rendering especially with tackling both eyes at once!
Lastly, we will go over my process for doing a full color rendering of the eyes! I'll show you my step by step process to set your self up for a successful color painting with a strong balance of warm and cool colors.
